The Museum in Šlapanice
The Museum is located in the heart of Šlapanice town in the Renaissance scholasticate on the main square. The museum preserves and documents the memory of the east Brno region. This includes its prehistory, history and traditions up to the present day. Visitors can enjoy thematic exhibitions, interactive playrooms and immersive programmes for children. The Museum is modern and open (even virtual) institution. Visitors like to come back here time and time again.
The Museum’s collections highlight history of Šlapanice and neighbouring region history, from palaeolithic period to the end of the 20th century. Special attention is paid to folk culture. The museum’s collections include an extensive number of embroidery stamps and also sets of items connected to significant personalities from the region, such as landscapist Alois Kalvoda and traveller Barbora Markéta Eliášová.
We greatly appreciate being part of the Erasmus+ program. More detailed information can be found here.
